Stockfish for MAC

Free, open-source chess app for Mac with the powerful Stockfish engine: play games on a beautiful board and get instant analysis.

Stockfish Overview

Stockfish for Mac is a powerful chess analysis app. Play two-player games on a beautiful chess board, or get instant, accurate analysis of any game from Stockfish, one of the strongest chess engines in the world. The board shows legal moves and an arrow for the best move, with smooth animations, and you can see several candidate lines at once with MultiPV.

You can open, view and save PGN files with many games, copy and paste FEN positions, undo and redo moves, and connect any other UCI chess engine. Version 2.4.1 improves PGN handling, fixes very long games and repetition detection, and lets you change engine settings during analysis; it comes with Stockfish 19. Stockfish for Mac is made by Daylen Yang and is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license. It is free on the Mac App Store and needs macOS 12 Monterey or later.
